Benefits of Smoothies

Like ice cream but not as thick, like ice cream but not as sweet, like ice cream but healthier, like ice cream but super quick and simple to make…that’s right, we’re talking about a delicious nutrient filled smoothie. A delicious smoothie is always in season, but with spring being just around the corner we have a smoothie recipe that is sure to help you shake off the frost of winter and gear up for spring. There are many benefits of smoothies and in the following we’ll discuss a couple, as well as provide a couple of recommendations to assist in creating delicious and flavorful smoothies! We also have a smoothie detox challenge recommendation to help and encourage those who wish to use smoothies as a tool to either detox, loose weight or both.

Smoothies are the most convenient health drink. You can combine any of your favorite fruits and veggies and continue on with your day without wasting much time. Smoothies are also a great tool to use in loosing weight and detoxing the body. Everyone has a sweet tooth every now and again, just blend together your favorite naturally sweet fruits and there you have it, sweet tooth satisfied.

In today’s modern society, there is a lot of hustle and bustle throughout everyone's days. It doesn’t matter if you are a stay at home mom or the CEO of a company. Sometimes just getting to sit and have a decent breakfast or lunch can seem quite tedious. So tedious that many settle to just grab what’s convenient and fast. What’s convenient and fast? Fast foods, chips, sodas etc. you get my point. None of these selections are going to fuel you for the next round of hustle and bustle. Those types of foods are just going to make you feel more tired and stressed. We all know the hustling and bustling is not going to stop, so how do we solve the dilemma of fueling our bodies throughout the rigors of the day? Yes, you’re right, we’re going to replace fast foods and junk foods with smoothies. Let’s just say we know spinach is high in iron and antioxidants, we love the taste of avocado, banana and maybe some papaya. Place all these ingredients in a blender with spring water and there you have it…a high antioxidant, nutrient dense smoothie with good fats from the avocado. This recipe will be listed at the end.

Losing weight can be challenging, I mean it’s the process of breaking a habit and recreating a new one that requires more discipline. There’s help, it doesn’t have to be as challenging if you implement smoothies in your diet plan. Drinking a nutritious nutrient dense smoothie can make you fill full until the next meal as well as provide healthier calories to your body. Making you feel more energetic, and less sluggish throughout your day. Before you know it, you’ll be dropping pounds in no time. Loosing weight is not all about eating healthy and exercising, sometimes being apart of a motivating community, receiving incentives for the weight loss along the way helps to push towards the next milestone. 10 DAY DETOX CHALLENGE

For those of you that have sweet cravings, smoothies to the rescue. All sugars are not created equally. Sugars from a soda are not the same as sugars from blended fruit with water base. Sugars from fruit actually fuel your body in ways that won’t make you crash or develop a distended belly. We offer some exotic fruits that are sweet to the taste, but are packed with antioxidants, vitamins and minerals the body needs to fight illnesses, feel energized and keep our bodies in a balanced state. One of our favorite sweet tooth smoothie recipes consists of frozen ripe mango, ripe pineapple, frozen banana, and coconut water. Mango is a good source of minerals copper and folate. It is high in vitamin C which works wonders for the immune system. A ripe mango is sweet. Pineapple has been known to be beneficial to the digestive system. It is also high in vitamin C, but also has manganese. Pineapple is high in antioxidants which help to combat serious illnesses like cancers and heart disease. Bananas have potassium which is beneficial for the heart. They also help the digestive system. Coconut water is an excellent hydration source. Coconut water also helps people living with diabetes lower blood sugar levels. Not bad for a healthy sweet treat!

On the go smoothie:
